Hi,

Now that my MBP is on it's last month of warranty, I'm thinking about upgrading my 160GB (hitachi) to a 250. After reading some reviews, I've read mixed interpretations about hdd manufacturers. I think i've narrowed it down to Hitachi, Samsung, or Seagate... leaning on hitachi b/c i'm pretty happy with the one i have now.

Anyway, I've seen the hitachi 250GB 2.5" hdd at newegg.com and out of the 3 user reviews, 2 of them complain about a "random clicking noise". I'm just wondering if anyone here has heard anything else about this. As stated previously, I'm fine w/ my curent 160GB but i don't want a noiser 250GB...

any decision making help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Get the WD 250GB 5400rpm from newegg. Many more reviews and I don't see any that have clicking problems.

The Western Digital 250 GB notebook drive is indeed very nice. I have one in my MacBook and it feels as speedy as the 7200 RPM notebook drives I've used.
