250GB Triple Interface: Iomega vs. Lacie

Currently I have 2 Lacie D2 drives, each over a year old and still rock solid. I am looking to add to my storage set up by adding a 3rd drive and have narrowed it down to either the iomega black 250GB Triple Interface, which recently was discussed in mac world and received great reviews but I am unable to find user reviews on it, or a Lacie D2 250GB. Going with Lacie means being able to stack my drives and everything will look uniformed but the Mac World article has me thinking that the Iomega might be a better drive... any opinions? If going by price alone, Lacie wins but I am still curious if anyone has the Iomega.

After reading that MacWorld article I went through the same selection process you are going through, and after a few hours bought another LaCie to match the other two which have worked perfectly and quietly. The newest one does, too.

I would agree. Remember the dreaded "click of death?" When your zip drive would click click click... ugh, iomega was no fun in dealing with that. Lacie's tech support is okay, I had to deal with them about 5 years ago and was annoyed that there was no 1800 number, not sure if that has changed.

I am going to do the same. Currently I have a D2 160GB (before the triple interface) and a D2 200GB triple interface. I love the drives, neither have given me any problems. I maintain them every so often, just by running verify on them with disk utility.

Still no toll-free number for Lacie customer support...

I'd definitely go with the Lacie, though that's based on my experiences with many variations of Iomega's Zip and Jaz drives...complete junk.
