Hi Guys,

Is there a difference watching videos from You Tube or dvd with a higer vram?

not really, youtube uses cpu because the videos are flashed based, and dvds, meh it's neglible you wouldnt notice a difference between 256 and 512Mb ;)

You can watch YouTube videos and video DVDs on Macs with Intel integrated graphics if you want, like the 2006/7/8 MacBooks or the Mac minis or any iMac since 2006/7.

The CPU is important, the GPU is not really in use during playbacks of those kinds of video, except the displaying of it.

I believe HTML5 and flash 10.1 use the GFX card acceleration for youtube! so you would get better performance for 720p 1080p or 4k :)P) playback!

Oh....i still thought the 512vram can improve the video quality of the full screen video. :D

512MB will only help you when you're driving a hi-res external display AND doing intensive graphic work like gaming or 3D rendering.

Windows users will claim you must have 1GB for the 27" iMac's resolution to game

Which isn't true, really.

More importantly you want to look for memory bandwidth. Graphical intensive stuff like shading, lighting or anti-aliasing take up memory, the higher the memory bandwidth, the more amount of this stuff you can do at a time. Having the extra vram is only good as a buffer so the gpu doesn't have to relegate itself to much slower system ram or hdd memory if it has to.

High memory bandwidth is achieved through use of quad data rate memory (gddr5) and high bus widths, most importantly.
