In the article, it says there will be a 1.8" version available in Q4 2008. I don't want to even imagine the price of that thing...

oh, you're right. i quoted the thickness of the larger version. i wonder if the 1.8" will be thin enough? Q4 2008 is a long ways away from them to get it thinner.

Maybe they should add a few mm to the case for this, 2 platter HDDs, and fins for the heat sink. This is only .18 in. Would we really notice?

Probably not, but then it would be .9 inches thick.

Actually, Intel is coming out with SSD drives too, they will be available in the standard laptop form factor with SATA as well. You'll be able to use them in any laptop that uses a SATA drive!

Imagine, a new Aluminum MacBook in the fall with one of the SSD drives...

Forget the MBA, when the Nehalem MBP's come out next year I'm slapping this thing in. Performs like RAID0, doesn't lose all my data like RAID0.

Those wont fit in the present version of the MBA as they are all SATA from what i've seen.

But I imagine there will be others that might.
