Hi all:

I just (belatedly?) realized that this coming January 24th, 2009 will be the 25th anniversary of the release of the first Mac. Has anyone heard of any plans by Apple (or anyone else) to commemorate this event?

I certainly hope Apple does something, at least a tip of the hat to the original Mac team. Of course, some special-edition hardware would be even cooler, but I'm not holding my breath.

We (I) have heard of nothing coming out to celebrate the 25th aniversary.

Maybe they will replace the iMac with this: (but with upgraded specs)

The back of beyond.
How about this as a piece of random speculation:

A special event on the 24th at the Apple campus. Jobs unveils the Mini replacement and shows why Macworld is a waste of time in the process.

Probably not very likely.
