Hi, it seems judging on pixelmators website, that it is a GPU run application, does this mean the 8800 would come in most beneficial? ...Does anybody have any experience with this?

I don't do any gaming whatsoever with my mac, use a ps3 for that, however I am intending to start using pixelmator and photoshop cs3, not sure whether the extra cash for the gpu chip is worth it or not. Any help would be appreciated.

Pixelmator uses CoreImage (I believe) for layer effects and blending etc. Core Image is hardware accelerated. So, it depends on what you're planning on doing with it, you'll only get the advantage if you're using a lot of effects or layers (though if anyone knows better, feel free to correct me). PS CS3 is not GPU accelerated, so you'll see no speed improvement there. Though there are rumors that CS4 will be.
