Does anyone know if it will be like this during christmas season?


I wanted to order mine the day before christmas, hoping for a 1 day delivery.
What's with the shortages of iMacs?
Are they in stock at the stores?

Demand is simply outstripping supply. Basic economics.
Obviously, more are in transit from the foreign factories, but the current supply must have been extinguished.

If you have the chance, go to an actual Apple store and purchase one there. I was also planning on ordering my 27" but I decided to go to the store today and buy one.

i'm in education and I placed my order on the 26th and have gotten the unexpected delay email 3 times.

Apparently i can expect my preconfigured C2D iMac to ship on Nov. 17th now.
