So I've allocated all my funds, and finally amassed $1600 to buy this beast!

2009 27"
It's an i5-750, I believe, clocked at 2.66ghz
4gb ram
1 TB HDD
Radeon 4850

Not bad for a sixteen year old, eh?

I went ahead and bought from the refurb store ($470 off I think?), and got the free epson printer.

The iMac itself was $1530, but tax and the printer brought my total to $1710.40 (yikes!). I sold my MBP on craigslist for as much as I bought it for though, so that definitely helped differ the cost.

I do intensive graphic and motion design, mostly in Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, some gaming (mostly GMod and TF2, gamecube emulation when I need some gold old-fashioned nostalgia), and plenty of multitasking - and I know the nearly-WQXGA display and the i5 will be perfect for that. (Although I'll be sad to see my multi-monitor set-up go :(.

So I ordered on the 4th, the printer shipped on the 6th, and the iMac is still "Prepared for Shipment". The estimate for both items is the 8th, but the printer isn't in transit and the iMac hasn't even shipped yet - or are FedEx and Apple slow to update their information online? Any idea on how long it'll take to get here? Standard ground shipping for both items.

Eagerly anticipating!

congrats, i bought the same imac and i love it. and as far as the shipping goes i had a dreadful time. it took about 5 days from the ship date for any one to give me answer as to where it was. and it total a total of 10 busniss days to get here. hopefully you don't have to go through the something. its pretty frusting when no one can tell you where a box worth $1,500 of your money... blah any who i got cought up on a rant. congrants on the buy you will love it :)

Well I can wait two weeks, I was hoping it'd be here in time for my birthday though (Thursday)... Oh well.

Congrats got the same one and love it....didnt get the printer though humm prob should have looked into that as I need one with a scanner......gotta take mine in for a slight yellow tint but its the stuff none the less....I literally went into apps and opened up EVERYTHING at the same time lol that was fun as all the programs opened up one after the other and pooped up on the large display

I ordered an i7 refurb and a printer on the 5th and they are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Hopefully you received a similar update.

I just ordered my 27" i7 last night. This is my second Mac, first iMac. I can hardly wait. It's supposed to arrive by next Thursday (9/16), but I'm not holding my breath based on what I've heard.

I decided to get the 32GB iPod touch for $69. I figure it should be easier to sell than a two year old 8GB model, and if I don't sell it, at least it runs all features of iOS 4, including multitasking (8GB doesn't).

I'm just glad I've received my email confirmation. I cut it really close buying the last day of the free iPod deal. Won't do that again. But the order went through, and as long as I don't get a bunch of dud iMacs that require a return rather than an exchange, I should end up getting $300 in rebates.

Just a quick side question, does anyone know if the printer I got will work with the iPad when iOS 4.2 comes out? (NX420).

Ordered iMac i7 on the 5th. Received shipment notification on the 7th. Arrives tomorrow.

So there's been another setback - now its the 14th that I'm supposed to get it :(

I ordered on the 4th, and the printer shipped the 6th and came the eigth. Set it up and everything, works fine (though you HAVE to use their software, windows drivers won't work).

Now the iMac, I also ordered on the 4th, and it shipped on the 7th, and is now scheduled to arrive the 14th, a full ten days later, and over twice as much time as it took for the printer to arrive.

Then again, the iMac is shipping from Cupertino to DC, so that might be why west coasters get it so much quicker. Even so, that's more time to build up hype, so I'll be that much more excited when it arrives.

My i7 shipped from PA and I am in VA and it arrived today. I just got the standard shipping. Maybe they did not have any i5 models closer than CA.
