So I've allocated all my funds, and finally amassed $1600 to buy this beast!
2009 27"
It's an i5-750, I believe, clocked at 2.66ghz
4gb ram
1 TB HDD
Radeon 4850
Not bad for a sixteen year old, eh?
I went ahead and bought from the refurb store ($470 off I think?), and got the free epson printer.
The iMac itself was $1530, but tax and the printer brought my total to $1710.40 (yikes!). I sold my MBP on craigslist for as much as I bought it for though, so that definitely helped differ the cost.
I do intensive graphic and motion design, mostly in Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, some gaming (mostly GMod and TF2, gamecube emulation when I need some gold old-fashioned nostalgia), and plenty of multitasking - and I know the nearly-WQXGA display and the i5 will be perfect for that. (Although I'll be sad to see my multi-monitor set-up go
.
So I ordered on the 4th, the printer shipped on the 6th, and the iMac is still "Prepared for Shipment". The estimate for both items is the 8th, but the printer isn't in transit and the iMac hasn't even shipped yet - or are FedEx and Apple slow to update their information online? Any idea on how long it'll take to get here? Standard ground shipping for both items.
Eagerly anticipating!
