Just got my 27" I7 today after a mere 2 1/2 days of waiting(B&H), and everthing on it is great. No flickering(updated as soon as I started it) and there is no yellow tint.

I only have one concern regarding the running tempuratures on these computers. I'm used to my older liquid-cooled G5 Pro that always ran somewhat cool most of the time. But after using my new iMac for several hours, I put my hands behind the screen and noticed that it was really hot. Is that normal on these?
Maybe I'm just a little paranoid, but I'm not used to computers feeling so hot on the outside like that. I took a quick screenshot of the temps incase anyone was curious. Help?

Well, any computer is gonna run hot after using it for several hours unless you're doing some very lightweight tasks such as web surfing or listening to music. Also, you have to realize you're running the Intel Core i7, that processor does get hot. Nothing to worry about. I've tested a few PC's with the i7 processor and they were mad hot. :)

heat kills hard drives...

if your hard drives is consistently in the 50-60 degress (C) range then it won't last long.

130 f = 54.4 c

Really? What is the normal running temp on the 1TB HD on an I7? Any other I7 owner getting this?

just talking about HD's in general... not mac or processor specific.

So what I'm seeing from what others are saying is that my temps are normal.

I understand heat is bad for HDs. In fact, heat with just about ANYTHING electronic isn't good.

I was just a bit worried from the time I put my hand behind the screen and felt the hot aluminum back. I'm surprised it's normal. :apple:
