27" iMac dropping other core?

My new 27" iMac gets occasionally very slow and according to core activity monitor bars only the "left bar" shows some (very high) activity.

After a reboot both cores work just fine (again according to those bars) and the computer works normally.

This makes me wonder if this is pretty much the same problem that the first generation MacBook Airs had

Search is your friend. It seems that 90% of the problems posted on this site are identical - not that your problem isn't the most important problem to you. But goodness gracious - search first!
