Oops, did not see. Can close this thread.
Actually IMHO this topic fits here much more, than in a very generic "News and Article Discussion". I'd suggest not to close this one.

I didn't have flickering before this update, now after it, I've noticed my screen flutters slightly when the brightness is all the way down. Frack. Nice one Apple.![]()
That is not good to hear... Having never had a single flicker in the 4 weeks of heavy usage with my i7 I'm understandably nervous about applying this firmware. If it ain't broke don't fix it, right?
I'm going to wait a bit on this one.
I can't make sense of this but I didn't have flickering and decided to install the update since my replacement for the yellow tinge is on its way to me. No harm either way. Well after having my computer on for an hour the yellow tinge is no longer here with the new update. It was present right before I installed the update. This might just be placebo effect, but I will continue running the computer for the next few hours and see if I can get the yellow tinge back. I will let you guys know.
Also, I have not had any issues with the screen flickering with the new update. No issues in that regard. knewsom might have had a bad download/install?

I'm of the opinion that the yellow tinge is nonsense.
I propose an experiment for all on this forum:
From 30cm (1 foot) lower your head so that you're looking at the Apple logo horizontally at the bottom of your imac.
Look up to the top of the display.
OH MY GOD. THE TOP IS GREYER!
Unless you sit 4 or 5 feet back from the display, you'll see this kind of thing.
It's a big LCD panel.
The characteristics change when viewed from different angles.
Try this on your LCD TV or s**t Dell.
