27" Imac is not burning auido cd's

Im currently using Itunes to burn cd's, but for some reason its not working. I made a playlist then right click on the playlist and select "burn CD". It'll say writing first track and all off a sudden it would say burning disc finishing...It doesn't seem like it's doing much. Does anybody have any techniques on burning cd's?
