27" iMac with ultra wide external display

I'll upgrade my 27" iMac whenever the new one arrives. I would like to have an ultra wide external display, maybe a 34" with 3440x1440 or something. Whichever it will be, it will be pretty big, and I can't decide how to arrange the monitors physically.

I bet there are 27" + ultra wide display owners in here – how have you arranged your setup?
