Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else is having a problem with their i7 not staying asleep. worked wonderfully until the firmware update but not clear if that had anything to do with the change.

tried everything so far, from shutting down the magic mouse to unclicking network wake on demand.....no change.....

kind of annoying when things work then magically don't....:(

Try the following: 1) unplug the computer and let sit for 5 minutes, 2) unplug any peripherals which did not ship with the computer, 3) plug the computer back in and turn it on without plugging in any peripherals. 4) Test the sleep function now. If it works, plug each peripheral in one by one and test the sleep function after each one.

Errr my i7 is starting to do this too (possible since the Screen flicker patch, maybe? ). I've even noticed it bringing the screen display back on when its been idle, I've got a pen-pad so I can tell if it's in sleep mode just by looking at the lamp on the pad.

Had a bit of shock because this morning there seemed to be screen burn which might have been because it was bring the screen up during the night and taking it down again.

At first I thought it could be the backup attempting to do it's thing to the external USB drive.

Tonight I've decide to shutdown the iMac, but it's going to be a pain during the day times when other family members will use it.

I've been having this problem too. Whenever I put the mouse in the top right corner (where I have it set to go to the screen saver) it wakes back up in about ten seconds. When I push the power button to put it into sleep mode, it takes about 10 seconds to go to sleep, then wakes back up in another 10 seconds.

Bumping this thread.

I have an iMac 27" i7 and it is displaying the same symptoms. All of the sudden the display will not stay asleep for more than 10 seconds.

I have tried all of the suggested remedies that I could find.

Has anyone else discovered a fix?

Thanks!

Frickin' weird!

There's several other threads where people are complaining of the opposite (Mac won't wake from sleep).

WTF.

Anyone ever find a solution?

I also have a problem on my 27 in iMac where it won't stay asleep and my
'put display asleep' hot corner does not work it will black the screen for 10 secs and then turn back on . I have tried rebooting closing programs everything nothing works consistently any help would be much appreciated! thanks :)
