I just saw this new thing TDM, and I'm really interested, meaning I can hook up my MacBook to it and all sorts of other stuff. I've been trying to find more info on apple's site and google but there's nothing much mentioned.

Can anyone tell me what kind of cable is required? Will it eventually need like 10 adapter heads?

sounds like you would need a mini-dp to mini-dp wire...and a computer that does mini-dp to begin with.

Macworld has also posted a Twitter Q&A session that included this question:

Q: So with the option to use the iMac as a monitor, will it take hdmi in? What are the input options? Can you hot switch inputs?—fejling

A: Unfortunately, we can’t test this yet, because you need special adapters that Apple says will be available soon. There is no HDMI in port, so it looks like it’ll be a special HDMI-to-DisplayPort adapter.

Edit: Jason Snell says Apple executives specifically used DVD players as an example during his briefing.

So, it’s official.

I bought the MDP to MD cable with my 27" iMac yesterday and I am able to use it as a monitor for my MBP. Anything else you guys want me to try?

When connected via this cable if I hit CMD + F3 on the iMac keyboard, the iMac instantly becomes the secondary display for my MBP.
