27-inch: 3.06GHz - Graphic Card Driver Issue on (Bootcamp) Windows 7

Dear Forum members,

I've just ordered a new unit of 27-inch: 3.06GHz iMAC. As im pretty new to apple OS, so i've actually informed the shop technician to pre-configure the windows 7 pro with bootcamp. I was then told by the technician that so far, they've yet to solve issues with Graphic driver for this iMAC model and as a results, my win icons would be HUGE and unable to adjust the resolution.

I would like to find out if this is truly an issue with the mac which remain unresolved? Truly appreciate your advice or any resolutions.

I know there were a few problems with sound and audio drivers but Apple has updated the Bootcamp drivers so I don't think there should be any problems. As for video drivers, you should be able to the AMD/ATI website and download the drivers:

I know I had a resolution and sound issue with my 4850 model, but I resolved that through an apple article that gave step by step instructions and how to install the latest drivers with bootcamp.

I'm not sure if they also cover the 4670 or not.

so im a little confused, when you install windows 7 with bootcamp, do you need separate graphics drivers for windows? i watched a video showing how to do it, and they said that you just put in the "original" mac CD that comes with imac and it installs the drivers for you. Do you then have to go to ATI site while running windows and update them? Also do you need virus prtection while running under windows? ive never had any virus issues with any other mac ive owned. thanks for the help!

Installing the mac cd just fixes sound issues if I remember correctly.

so still need to go to ATI website and put inlatest drivers for the 4850? does that replace drivers for when you boot into OSX as well?

^^No, the drivers from ATI's site are worth installing on the Windows side as they are far more up to date then Apples, but under OS X the drivers will be updated with Apples Software Update when they are available. One side doesn't effect the other.
