Amidst all the news reports of potential iMac production halts this morning I noticed in an article on MacFixit this morning that there is apparently speculation about a possible 27-inch iMac recall.

Though the company hasn't officially released a comment, speculation is that current owners of the 27-inch iMac may find that Apple initiates a recall 27-inch iMacs.

That's the first time I'd read about any recall speculation so I don't know how much truth (if any) there is to it. If it does happen I'd be left with a very difficult decision though since the machine (week 47) I have has thus far been a keeper. I did confirm though that my iSight has 4 pixels stuck grey that I hadn't noticed before by zooming in on a Photobooth shot of the camera blocked with the cleaning cloth. They're fairly undetectable in normal usage though.

any news?

SaSaSushi have you heard anything else? I've heard rumors as well but nothing that gives a serial number? Mine was purchased January 2010.

Thanks!

It seems to be already in progress...

...for instance, I just keep getting refurbs that have problems...

...so I send them back...

It's sort of a "recall", right?

It just a recall that never ends.

:)
