Hi everyone,

Upgraded to El Capitan last week and it hasn't been a great experience. App's are crashing, the wheel of death is a regular occurrence even for the smallest tasks e.g. Apple>About This Mac. The iMac is just generally slow.

I time machined about three weeks ago, so I can go back to Yosemite, but before I do, I wanted to pull on the experience in this forum to see whether there are any known issues with El Capitan that I could check for? Or is it generally accepted that this OS is problematic for older machines?

Thanks in advance for any first hand experience or advice.

It runs first-class on my five computers, including a 10-years old Mac Pro, so there's something with your particular installation, not with the OS X El Capitan.

Thanks hwojtek. Good to know. I've scheduled a call with them for tomorrow. Sadly my applecare ran out 3 weeks ago.

How much system memory have you installed? Clean install of 10.11.x or was it an in place upgrade?

I've the same model with 32 GB of memory, the 3.4GHz Core i7 and no complaints.

Did you have your Seagate Drive replaced under the recall?
