Just got a frantic text from my daughter, when her iMac screen did this. She freaked, has Applecare but wondered what this was or if anyone could shed some light on it for me. She was running Adobe Premiere and had a browser up with a bunch of tabs open but thats about it

Thanks in advance for your help.

My vague recollection is that, a long time ago, my iMac did that. I brought it into an Apple store and showed them. They replaced the motherboard. Given the price of a motherboard, your daughter should be glad this is under warranty.

Sometimes after I restart my iMac, it will do that. Same goes for my MacBook Pro. But it usually doesn’t last more than two seconds. But AppleCare+ should resolve the issue. Hopefully this helps!

I hope so, she’s doing a re-install right now. She probably needs more RAM and her apt WiFi (provider equipment) isn’t that good but will work the steps. Her AC is good until Sept 2023.
