Is it just me or the new Imacs are really sensitive to CDs now. I put in a cd that is barely scratched and it doesn't even import correctly or play correctly. I have an old G4 laptop and it never gave me a problem with this. Now tracks are jumping around skipping. Is this just Apples evil way of making me buy all my cd's again on iTunes or what? The computer is awesome but that one thing kinda making me mad at apple. Is anyone else having this problem.

Thanks
Hella

yeah it's really annoying. I'm debating if i should go take it to the mac store.

If it is under warranty there is no doubt you should take it in. Apple is VERY GOOD about backing it's hardware. They will replace the drive with new and not even argue.

I completely agree with your assessment. I find that the optical drive in my new i7 iMac is way more sensitive than the one in my 20" iMac from late '07. Night and day in fact. Also, I'm on my second machine due to the first having an optical drive that was indeed scratching my media. Apple can keep their mediocre 256kbps iTunes Plus media. Some of us actually appreciate lossless audio still...
