As expected Apple has just confirmed 28th May for the international launch.

Bugger...I fly out at 7am for a 2 week holiday and wanted the iPad before then

If like US, stores will sell out quickly. The only way to "track status" is via online order...

You can go into an Apple Store (after launch) and get put on a wait list...
