I have a Sony bluetooth headset DR-BT21G. I've been using it with my hacked/jailbroken 1st Gen iPhone with the sony dongle that fits into the bottom connector.

I have recently installed 3.0 with the hope of using the headphones without the dongle. The headphones are A2DP compliant and have successfully paired correctly with the phone now running 3.0 software. however, they don't work with the music.

I have used the same headphones paired with a 3G iPhone running 3.0 software and they work with perfectly. When playing music the name of the paired headset appears at the bottom of the screen alongside the bluetooth symbol.

Is this a known issue with the 2G phones or is an issue with the jailbreak ?

The 2G iPhone doesn't support the A2DP protocol, only the 3G and 3GS do.

crisss1205 is correct - the first-generation iPhone does not have the A2DP profile with the 3.0 firmware. Apple recently posted a chart on their support site showing this here.

thanks,

I couldn't find the resource page at Apple's site.
That's one more on the list of can't do's for the 1st gen phone.
