So I have a 2g jailbroken iphone running on 3.0 and recently I haven't been able to recieve MMS. I can send them but when someone sends them I get this message

"no subject The media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction"

Is there anything you suggest I can do to fix this?

I was thinking about updating to 3.1.2 but my friend recently did that and now she can't connect her iphone to her computer to add music or it wont charge it so thats why Im afraid to update it..

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?? mms is pretty important, and its annoying that it's not working all the sudden. I have T-mobile but my friends have t-mo and they can get pics of their iphone which is also JB

Add sinfuliphonerepo.com to Cydia repos, and then look for Enable MMS for 2G & 3.0 FW ( this will also install the MMS and Tethering Settings), install it, then go to your Network settings and do a reset network settings, then reboot. Try again.

Thats what I did when I upgraded my friends iphone firmware to 3.1.2 I didn't like that It added swirly txt. Would I be able to delete the swirly txt after. I originally got the MMS on my iphone by adding APN off cydia and finding the codes online. But the pictures are blurry? I noticed when I did it this way with the sinful it was clearer then mine but it added the swirly...

I edited my previous post while you were posting this one, so double check it, you will need to add the Enable MMS package, this will also install the MMS and Thethering settings.

About the Swirly, I don't think this version will do that, as I did it for one of my co-workers and I don't remember seeing that swirly got installed. BTW, it works perfectly on her 2G with T-Mobile.

Just follow this instructions over here.

Don't crucify me if I'm wrong... but...

Are the people MMSing you that fail on Verizon? I've been told they allow larger images to be sent than the spec adopted by most GSM carriers, usually 640x480 (vga) max where as Verizon allows 1MP+ pics to be sent.

If that's the case see if your friends can downsize their photos before sending them.

If it isn't the case good luck figuring it out!

No the people trying to send me the MMS was from T-mobile, actually it was the person who i re jailbroken her phone because she has a 4gb 2g iphone and its firmware was 1.1.2 and she wanted the newest one... and but I cant get MMS from verizon or us cell. It was working fine before, I haven't changed anything...

Pretty sure MMS didn't work on the 2G phones.

I had it working no problem before... and I can still receive them, it's just all the sudden I can't send them. I know that this week T-mobile has been having alot of issues but my other friends who have JB iphone's on t-mobile can send and receive pictures no problem

Have you tried re-installing the Enable Mms from the sinfuliphone repo? Just remember to follow their instructions and reboot your iPhone and then go to your Network settings an reset them. I don't know if it will help you but it has helped me with the 2g from T-mobile that I mentioned before and it sure won't harm you at all trying it.

The sinfuliphone enable mms doesn't work for me either on my 2G running 3.1.2.

There are dozens of other people posting over at sinfuliphone in that thread who haven't been able to get it to work either. Guess I'm going back to 2.2.1. I only upgraded to to 3.1.2 to try this out.

Edit: I got it to work on my 2G iPhone using a GoPhone sim.

It didn't work the first time because when I put the sim in the 2G iPhone, MMS didn't work. I had to place the sim in the GoPhone that the sim was activated in and then send an MMS from that and the MMS went through. I then put the sim in my 3G iPhone to test an MMS and it worked. I then put the sim in my 2G iPhone and this time it worked!

I don't know about the 2g on 3.1.2 but the OP mentioned that she is still at 3.0 and I can assure you that it works great in my co-worker's T-mobile 2G iPhone on 3.0.1.

BTW I have a 3GS on 3.1.2 with AT&T and I was having problems with the MMS, I couldn't send a single MMS, it began sending it and them stopped almost at the end, stay like that for a minute or so and then it failed. I called AT&T and then they passed me to Apple but nothing helped, so I went to sinfuliphone installed the MMS & Terhering settings and rebooted and reset network and my problem was gone.

I edited my post above to say that I did get it working on 3.1.2. By the way, my MMS fail with WiFi on, but go through with WiFi off.

I have 3.0.1 and it was working perfectly fine before... Maybe within the last week/ week and a half that it hasn't been working. I originally got MMS from adding something off cydia and get the APN codes from online. I'm gonna try the sinful one though. I know it works on the 3.1.2 because I added to my friends iphone to enable MMS off her 2g phone
