2G screen only shows USB cable and itunes logo

I have a 2G 8GB iphone which my friend gave it to me. As of now it doesn't haev any sim card or service yet and it only shows USB cable and itunes logo on the screen. It is fully charged and on & off button works.

It also shows a lock at the top center of the screen. My friend saus he deleted all the application from the iphone before he gave it to me.

I tried to connect the iphone to my laptop and nothing happens..

Any suggestions???

you need a valid ATT sim card and itunes to activate it.


or


download the pwnage tool and 'hacktivate' it so you wont need an ATT sim
