Hi people i am wanting to buy an iPad 3g currently i have around £260 but should have £400 this time next week and £500 the week after.

How much could i pick up a second hand iPad 3g 16gb or 32gb?

is it best just to buy iPad 3g 16gb for £530 new?

thanks

I dont think youll get a good deal on a second hand ipad. Its too early in the iPad release cycle for prices to drop significantly new or second hand. People will pay upto the 'new' price on ebay so you might save 20 quid but then you have a slightly used ipad - is it worth it?

But you might get lucky....

You would be better to wait until you have £600 and buy the 32gb 3G and have 'future proofed' yourself to some extent eg, your needs might change and you want more storage on the ipad.

DO NOT BUY 3G!! I'll give you a tip. Buy a brand new WiFi only model, then buy a MiFi from three. MiFi means you can have more devices hooked up to that 3G connection and the data plans are cheaper. 16GB iPad and a MiFi is £479!

What he said. If you don't need the GPS it's a winner.

I did exactly the same and an added bonus is you can use the Mifi for accessing data on your laptop/iPod/anything else wireless without the data being tied to the iPad itself.

Highly recommend a 3G device. I had a wifi only one and it was a hassle always using a mifi or mywi on the iPhone. The 3G model is easier and well worth it.

Only do this if you are short of cash and can't afford the 3G model. I have used a mifi and the small saving isn't worth the extra hassle of carrying another charger and having the mifi battery go flat when you absolutely need it.

With regard to cheaper data plans, I use my sim card from my mifi in my iPad without any problem.

Get a wifi and tether it to a jail broken iPhone - easy

You are always going to have your phone with you so as long as theres a data connection you are sorted.

I can't see you getting a big enough saving against buying a new one in the UK at the moment. When the wait time was 7 days they were selling for £200-£300 over retail price so demand is high and will push second hand prices up.

I would spend extra cash on 3G rather than more storage.

im saving for a 16gb 3g one brand new for £530

but im checking gumtree and ebay daily
and if i see a 32gb 3g one come up for £400 - £530 i will most likely just buy it.
