2nd imac. same problems

again i receive a brand new i7 with tinting issues. seriously where can i go from here. Im a graphic design student, I've already started back at uni, and i still find myself after a month, being unable to use my imac.

You don't have many options. In a nutshell:

1. Call Apple and get a replacement (take the risk of tint)
2. Call Apple and get a refund and buy a different Mac with that money (it's a compromise since there is no similar Mac)
3. Call Apple and get a refund and buy a PC (you get the hardware you wanted but you're stuck with Windows)
4. Ignore the tint and keep your current

as a student, theres no way i can afford it to a spec i'd be happy with

I went thru 2 BTO, and 3 in store purchases before the 5th iMac had an acceptable display. IMO, the 3 that I got from the Apple Store were all better than the first two BTOs.
