This is my second iPhone in one day - the first one kept freezing and had some plastic from the innerds hanging out.

On the bottom of the iPhone, only the left speaker is working. Is this normal? Is the right one for show?

It's also VERY crackly = any music is terribly distorted!

Return? Software issue?
 
umm ... the iphone only has 1 speaker on the bottom ... the other one is a mic....

everything that comes out of that speaker gets summed into mono ...

edit: is your music very bass heavy?? ... that speaker isn't very good at translating low frequencies, and i would recommend turning on the eq setting "bass reducer" when listening to it
 
If it's really crackly, though, I'd still take it back. However, it must be said that it's pretty awful at the best of times for playing music through. That's what the headphones are for...
