So I'm one of the many that is soon making the switch to Mac. I love the OS and the iMacs are gorgeous to me. So I'll be buying sometime in the next couple months after I get my finances situated. Here's my question: I currently have a terrible PC now, but I have a nice 20" Dell flatscreen Monitor. Would I be able to use this as a second dual monitor? Or would it even be worth it? My other option is sell it, but if I can use it as a 2nd monitor, I might prefer to do that? Would the quality be a lot worse as well?

With an iMac - yes. You need to purchase the mini-DVI to DVI converter.

For a time I ran my Dell FPW2005 20" monitor with my Al iMac 24" with this adapter.

The Dell screens are generally pretty good - the colour definition isn't quite in the same league as the Apple cinema displays, but in other respects they're of very comparable quality (and certainly in the same league as the screen on an iMac.

Yes, you could use it as a second display for an iMac, MacPro, MacBook or MacBook Pro (I use one as an external display for a 17" MBP on a regular basis).

Ok cool - this is the exact monitor I have. How does it look next to the 24"? Did you have to turn it to the side to get a comparable height?

I was skeptical about how it would look to put my new 20" iMac up next to my old Dell 24" (2407WFP) monitor, but it actually looks quite stunning. The black/aluminum looks on both compliment each other well and the Dell monitor's ridiculous amount of positioning adjustments assured I could line them up to look nice.
