I have and iMac on the way. Been using dual monitors for years with other operating systems. The second monitor I have is a 22" Planar PL2210MW that will do 1680x1050. The iMac is the 21.5" with the ATI Radeon HD 4670, 1TB drive, 3.06ghz Dual core.

I am pickup an Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter (the Planar monitor is DVI-D)

Will the second monitor work?

Will the iMac and the 2nd monitor support different resolutions?

How will a 2nd monitor effect games (COD/SimCity...)

Thanks

Paul

It will work, according to the official representation of the technical specifications, the iMac is capable of having 2560 x 1600 pixel on an external display, additional to its own display.

And yes, you can change the resolutions on both display, but anything besides the native resolution of the screens might look blurred.

If you don't play the game on two monitors, it should not affect any game experience, as it will most likely make one screen black.
