Hello all,
My first (week 49) 27" quad core was nothing short of a disaster.
It had tens and tens of dead pixels in the lower right corner, resembling a hair that had gotten stuck between the panel and the glass. It looked like a major fault in the panel or that something scratched it during assembly, and was the main reason why I exchanged the Mac.
It also had a horrible low-pitched noise emitting from the hard drive's spinning. It clearly was due to the hard drive's vibrations and sounded like the hard drive was not securely bolted in place.
And, of course, it had the yellow tint issue.
I just received a replacement which is a week 51 machine and it seems perfect, even lacking the yellow tint!
So moral of the story, it's a Russian roulette where you can get lucky and this time I did get lucky. However, buying a 1900 machine should not be a game of chance and Apple really needs to step up their game. Do not come here blaming LG or anyone else - these are Apple branded machines with huge profit margins and Apple needs to sort this out, noone else.
