2nd webcam for an iMac

Being a powerbook guy and not having any experience with any Apple product with a built-in iSight.
does the iMac allow a 2nd webcam?
I will be replacing my xp box this fall after the new version of OSX comes out with a new iMac.
I would like to be able to use a 2nd webcam in addition to the builtin. I would manually toggle between them for each purpose.
Like monitoring the pets etc, instead of having to physically turn the iMac around to do it.
 
Someone else on a different board posted that he uses an external iSight with his MacBook.

Since the iSight is firewire, it is not the same as an external USB webcam.
Does anyone else have any additional info on this?
