I need to move to a larger TM volume, and I'm having a problem identifying reasonable options...

1. I tried (despite mixed reviews) the 2TB Seagate drives...1st one was obviously really old firmware (CC9C and I don't have a PC I can use to upgrade firmware and the Seagate provided tools didn't work in my MP) and 2nd one came to me with over 50 bad blocks (1 stopped counting at 50) so both went back
2. I've read not terribly good things about the 2TB WD green
3. Best I can tell it's not ideal to use WD Red in a non-NAS setting
4. WD Blue doesn't come in a 2TB size
5. The 2TB WD Black seems to be a great drive, but it seems overkill (it's pricey!) for a backup drive

Any thoughts?

[FWIW, Time Machine is only part of my backup strategy...I make weekly SuperDuper clones and rotate them every month]

I have had good luck with Hitachi drives.

I have had great luck with WD Green's, Hitatchi 2TB and I currently have two WD RED 3TB in my 3,1 MP, no issues at all.
