Welp I am on my 2nd defective black sports band.

The first one didn't sit properly in the locking mechanism. Took it to the Apple Store and they swapped it out. Now after having the new one for a few days, it has begun peeling on the top of the band (aka not anywhere where it touches my skin). Thankfully AppleCare is doing an express replacement for me so I should have the replacement early next week. I also have a green sports band and it is flawless. I guess the Black Sports Bands are really the problem children huh? Here's hoping that my 3rd band will not have any issues.

I am sticking with my white band until Apple sorts out the issues with the black one. My white band seems to be holding up fine but I do want a black sports band too for variety.

I haven't had any issues with my black band, it is as good as the day I got it. The white band I brought on the other hand wouldn't lock.

I'm on my third WSB set, and they all sit loose in the locking mechanism. They jiggle around, and there is a gap in the fitment.

It's a common issue from what others have reported. Only 1-3 people said they got a sport band without a gap or jiggle.

Not that it is right. It is just common.

I'm going to wait a few months before I swap again.

I must be lucky then with my WSB and don't have this issue. I think I will pick up a BSB if they have them in stock in NYC and hope for the best.

The tricky thing with comparing the fits of the different bands is that they're actually different weights, which I have to imagine factors in to the variances in how they fit in the mechanism. (I can feel an OBVIOUS difference between my black and green sports band. The Black is much thicker but also doesn't lock in as snug as the green band.)

The weight has nothing to do with how it fits. It's the size of the business end of the band that matters. They are all just cut slightly too small. Both the Milanese and BCB have much tighter fits. For me, 3 WSBs have been loose and jiggly.

if there is less weight, then it is logical that there would be less size, thus less bulk in the connector part of the watch. not saying it is the only factor, but that it can be a factor.

Interesting. I had no idea that people were having issues with the sport bands at all.

My BSB that I got with my SS watch is perfect. In addition, I bought a blue one a couple of weeks ago that is similarly perfect. Nothing moves or "jiggles" in either one.

I will say that the blue one is oddly more "stretchy" / "softer" than the black one. Both are very comfortable though.

You guys don't have this wiggle?

I just checked and mine does that. But honestly I don't mind at all. That is not an issue when I am wearing it and unnoticeable. I think the 38mm watch does not have as much play as the 42mm with the WSB. I had the 38mm and remember the band being a tighter fit with the Watch.

My Space Gray Sport didn't have this issue, and the stainless with sport band that replaced it doesn't have it either. The leather loop that I wear during most of the day doesn't have this issue either, for what that's worth.

I have the WSB, bought separately in the store and don't have the gap or jiggle issue. If I tug at it I can get it to move away a bit from the ends but your video looked like more space than when I tug a bit. Suppose it could be the adapter on it or maybe even the watch case. Mine's a 42mm SS BTW.

My 42 mm Space Grey BSB has the gap/wiggle. Noticed it day one. Thought maybe it's a bit of a pull from wearing it snugly and movement of my wrist throughout the day.

Well it's good to know that my sport band being a little tiny bit jiggly (sub-mm) is okay 😄
