2x MacPro 4.1 cluster

Hi,

I am on a way to buy my second MacPro 4.1 and I will upgrade it to a 5.1 with appropriate hardware. Both Macs will run 10.13.6.

I have seen in thr latest Apple Keynote, that for example MacStadium clusters MacMini‘s, iMac Pro‘s or MacPro‘s.

As Xgrid is no longer supported, is there any way to connect them and bundle the power for encoding, transcoding, video/music editing?

Having a 24core beast with possibility of over 200gb ram, 8 hdd‘s, additional 4 sata ssd‘s and on top pcie nvme blades and last but not least, some big ass grafic cards for raw power!

So, how could I cluster them together?

1. list apps you want to run
2. ask the manufacturers if their app supports this

You'll be able to distribute encoding chores between the 2 if you are using Compressor.
