I am looking to get a MBP but wonder is it worth saving £70 by getting 2x512mb ram instead of 1x1gb ram?

is it $140 more or $140 total? if it's 140 more, i change my answer to 2x512. still, $140 for a 1GB stick seems high. i got 2x1GB for $200.

The reason 2 x 512 is faster than 1 x 1024 is that you have the same amount of memory bits available, but twice as many pins to access them.JPC said:Where u get the 2x1gb for 200? I guessing US dollars, i live in Australia and want to upgrade RAM so bad, i not sure if 2x 512 or 2x 1gb. If i get one 1gb stick and then have a empty slot, is that bad? i have a macbook by the way. Or should i get 1gb and keep the other 256 in?
