I have 3.0 firmware iPod touch and a 2.2.1 firmware iPhone 3G. The touch will not allow me to use the emoji keyboard in the Mail App, but the phone will?

Is anyone able to use the emoji keyboard in Mail on a 3.0 device (either phone or touch?)

Thanks!

How did you enable your emoji? I used the Spell Number application. My dad has a 2G with 3.0 and his keyboard doesn't show the "world" icon to switch to them.

I turned on emoji when mine was jailbroken pre 3.0. The setting retains itself after jailbreak.

I downloaded a free app a few months back. It was shortly removed but the change stays.

Same thing here. iEmoji wasn't working in e-mail. A quick restart fixed that.

same for me, the instructions I used from the website didn't say restart the device. after a quick restart I was able to use it in mail.
