I want to jailbreak my iPhone 3g just to be able to use different themes. Is there anyone in the Charlotte area who would be willing to help me with this? I'm terrified of doing it by myself.

There's really nothing to be afraid of. Bricking is impossible, no matter what you have heard. If worst comes to worst, you'll have to restore it. Just try QuickPWN first before you pay someone.

if you must, check your local craigslist listing. there are always tons of people offering to jailbreak/unlock

but if I were you, Id' check iClarified when the 3.0 jailbreak is out. they usually have very clear and detailed step-by-step instructions.

I had to restore / backup my iphone 5-6 times today but in the end it all came out fine. If you freak out, just restore like mad.
