I have very few contacts in my address book. When I compose an email and hit 'S' in the 'to' section, for example, Sherri and Steve pop up.
Today after the upgrade when I hit 'S', I'm getting a huge list of folks who are not listed in my address book. They are casual business acquaintances whom I must've replied to via email at some point on the phone.

When I do a search for their names, nothing comes up. Yet I can't seem to delete these old email addresses.

Any idea on how to get rid of these people who are not in my address book?

Thanks,
Tammy

Do you have syncing with mobileme or google mail setup??

I am using google sync (sync.google.com) and noticed that if i reply to alot of stuff on my gmail, it often auto-saves the address meaning they just randomly appear on my phone.

Nope. No MobileMe or anything like that.

I haven't sent an email to some of these folks in nearly a year. And, as late as this morning, they weren't auto-populating in the drop-down box. Only after I did the upgrade.
