Hey guys so i ended up buying a 3gs, it's on 3.1.3but it has the files on Curia. So I tried downgrading and I could never get it to actually run on 3.1.2 which is normal right?? So when I jb with blackra1n or redsn0w I never have service. I've been looking for guides to do it right but nothing works. I'm just wondering what any of you did to make it work.
Thanks for your help

Are you on the official carrier? And, if so, did you activate the phone before you ran blackra1n?

Yeah I'm with ATT. But how do I activate before jailbreak?? The jailbreak is supposed to finish the downgrade. So the very first possible chance I could try to activate is after the jb. Does that make sense? I dont think there is a chance to activate before jb.

no. you can use iRecovery to finish the downgrade...itll activate on at&t, then you use blackra1n.

Um...no. When you're done restoring, just plug your phone into your computer and run iTunes. iTunes will activate your phone automatically if you have an AT&T SIM. Then you can run blackra1n or redsn0w. If your phone doesn't reboot after the downgrade, you can use iRecovery to get out of Recovery mode.
