3.1 3GS Jailbreak... If I read anymore my head will explode.

I hate to sound and act like a newb...

So, is all hope lost for those of us who had 3.1 with no Jailbreak and now WANT to Jailbreak?

Is there no way to DOWNGRADE BASEBAND on 3GS?

Doesn't the baseband only matter if you DON'T have AT&T anyway?

It's been a bad morning, which usually follow good nights and I am reading WAY too much... Helpful replies would be appreciated.

There's hope...greenpo1son, currently under development by the Chronic Dev Team (rather than the iphone Dev Team), should jailbreak 3.1 OTB.

If you didn't capture your SHSH files, you cannot downgrade your firmware. And since you cannot downgrade, the tools for JB you need have not been released yet.

Apple quit signing the 3.0 and 3.0.1 IPSW's for 3GS so you cannot go back and therfore not JB your 3GS.

The fixed baseband in 3.1 prevents unlocking your phone.

Jailbreaking and unlocking are 2 different things and the reasons you cannot do either with your 3GS are different as explained above.

Honestly, there is no option for you at the current time.

If either the DevTeam or iH8sn0w team comes out with a new JB tool, perhaps things will change.

What I also meant to add is that I have AT&T so I don't need to unlock, just Jailbreak and have fun.

Well, I waited over 2 years for MMS, I suppose I can wait a little longer for a JB option, HA! At least it's all starting to make sense.
