Not sure if this has been posted or not. I upgraded last night and itunes synced all my apps. I don't normally do that because I don't delete the apps of the computer, just the phone. Well, I ended up with 11 pages of apps. I thought the limit before was 9. I wonder how high it will go.

My question is do you really need 11 pages of applications on a cell phone?

That's what a 176 programs (if you filled up all the pages). Seems kind of absurd to have, need and use all of those applications.

It IS his/her iPhone. Why question what someone chooses to have on their own phone? Come on now...

Perhaps someone has a wider range of needs/wants than you? Shocking!!

Don't forget that you are not limited to 11 pages of apps. You can have more apps than pages to fit them. You just need to use the Spotlight facility to find them. I tend to use that anyway as I can never remember what page mine are on or what they look like.

Just to let you know. I dnt need that many apps. In fact I don't need a third of that many apps. When I updated it synced ALL my apps that were on the comp. I need to delete alot off my comp.

Why is it absurd to ask them why they need that many apps. This is a forum after all where people ask such things. You don't like my questioning this, move on, but my question remains to the OP, that's a lot of apps.

These were the same arguments/points/issues that were brought up in the 3.0 thread about the app limit, which just so happens to have the same limit as 3.1. Did we really need a new thread on this, or if we did, do we really need to keep rehashing the same crap? /thread

No we don't need a new thread hashing the argument about app limits. I hadn't see this posted anywhere else (yes I searched) and thought I would post something I found in 3.1. (that I can have 11 pages of apps instead of 9) I now only have 3 pages of apps.

So, please, don't argue about why someone would need this many apps. Its not the point of the thread. I posted this just to show that you can now have 11 pages. Not start an argument.

You don't need to delete them off your computer. Just uncheck them and they won't sync on to your iPhone. You then have the option to add them at another time if you want to use them.

I do this alot with games, If I am going on vacation I will load up all my games to play in the airport etc... Once back I uncheck them, and just keep the ones I play all the time.

Whether they are on your phone or your computer, check or unchecked, they will still be updated, when new updates become available.

Apple seriously needs to revamp the user interface. Spotlight and giving us extra pages for apps is not enough.

That's what I do, just like my music, photos and tv/movies. I can select/deselect what I want to sync with my iphone.

I agree. I'm all for having the Home page and a page of Categories, which would then have the apps on some number of pages, but in the same category. It would be much easier to find apps without searching through 11 pages. I know most people categorize their apps on different pages, but do just one "by name" and see how long it takes you to rearrange them again.

Wow, that is a lot of apps that you tried out, but it does suck that you have to go through and delete them all.

Good Luck

Again

you can have a total of 12 pages see my other post. So there is the answer if you need 12 then great if not then the info is useless.
