just a heads up so this won't happen to you.

a few friends claimed to have called me last monday and i told them all when i saw them in person that i received no calls from them (i didn't receive one phone call that day from anyone. a bit odd i thought). i also didn't hear from my girlfriend all day via text, which was strange.

the next day web pages were not loading on my iphone. so i simply shut my phone off, waited 30 seconds, then turned it back on. none of my missed calls showed up in my call log, however 10 text messages from the previous day did.

so for whatever reason, 3.1 update (i suspect) caused me to miss calls and texts for that full day. just a heads up to anyone who potentially runs into the same problems. hopefully this won't happen to me again.

For 2 days in a row my iPhone:
1) While in my pocket drained the battery 1%/3min with nothing on
2) Was unable to connect to AT&T (voice or data) outgoing or ingoing
3) After reset (home/power buttons) recived missed texts/voicemails and could now call/text out.

Today so far so good....

Similar issue(s) here. I have to turn airport mode on and off about 3 times every other day or so... what will happen is I won't be able to make or receive calls/texts... and then I will turn airport off and back on, and then one of three things happens

1) I can "call" someone... their name shows up but it doesn't say "calling" underneath and there is no noise

2) When I touch a name it just flashes and doesn't open the call screen.. so no call

3) It actually works..

Got my phone swapped out b/c of 3.1

Same thing happened to my phone when I did the update.

I finally took it in to the Genius bar, and got it swapped out for a new one. My warranty ran out 40 days before that, but they replaced it anyway. Clearly because it was no fault of mine. It came loaded with 3.0.1 and I will NOT be updating until this bug gets fixed.

There were three other people at the genius bar with the same issue. not cool apple. not cool.

Happened again today. Called Apple support and did a full restore through iTunes. I'll let you know how things go (fingers crossed).

Whoa I can get a new iPhone because of this??

And eawmp1, please let me know how the restore goes for you.

I'm also having the same problem after my 3.1 clean restore update on my 32GB 3Gs. I would not get calls, then find out later that people have been trying to call.

Text messages would error out and only way to fix phone and text issue would be fixed if 1) I restart the phone or 2) Reset network settings

Just did another clean restore and not restoring from backup. Will see how this works. Otherwise, I will be making an appt at Apple to get my phone swapped.
