I synced my unlocked original 3.0 iphone yesterday, and it removed 3 of my apps, when I try to put them back on (checking the boxes under the apps tab) it says that it is installing them, but it doesn't, it just unchecks them and leaves them off. I trying deleting them and re-downloading from the app store, I tried restarting the phone and syncing again multiple times. I just can't get it to leave them on.

I also can't move other apps into those apps "spot" on the phone, as if the app was still there.

One of these apps in particular I use everyday, so I am going crazy without it, any ideas?

The only think that would make sense is since you said 3.0...that you have some apps which are 3.01+ compatible.

Bootsie, the previous poster is correct.

I had this same problem as you with the app RedLaser. It just wouldn't sync with my iPhone (w/ firmware 3.0.1 or 3.1.0...forgot which). iTunes just kept unchecking the box app's sync-box after every sync.

This stumped me for a while. I only found out after carefully checking the app name in the App Store and seeing the minimum firmware version requirement (in very small print of course). Ah, live and learn.

Ultimately, I upgraded to firmware 3.1.2 and the problem went away.

Ok thanks! Usually it gives a warning when that is the reason that they won't sync, so that is why I didn't think it was that.

Any other problems that I might experience from updating? I can never seem to find much info for the Original iPhone, it is all focuses on 3G and 3Gs anymore.

Thanks!
