I have 3 iMac A1418s all with 3330S CPU, 8Gb Ram. All with some issues and want to make two working ones if I can

1) All good no faults

2) Parts machine with full mobo, ram etc, no HDD and missing screen. I installed Mountain Lion from Recovery onto an SSD that I can move to #3 if needed.

3) Apparently dead (screen) but chimed. HDD tired. Opened up and spotted a damaged cap (?) near the LVDS connector. So that's poss why screen doesnt display. Or maybe

Took screen and put on #2 but nothing. Took screen and put on #1 and screen is live. So no idea why #2 doesnt display?

So I seem to have two live screens. One iMac SHOULD be fully functional soon but how to take the others to make one more??? To add to confusion I seem to have (whilst using my Thunderbolt/DP connected 1440P monitor) got it confused as to resolution and now I get a corrupted pic on the 1440P where I can just see very top of menu bar but cannot work out how to set back to correct resolution). Also the fans now come on even when machine ISNT switched on but is connected to mains and then go quieter when machine powered on. I have tried triple NVRAM reset and SMC but no dice there.

Would appreciate some things I can maybe test/try to see if I can turn #2 into a working machine and let #3 be sold as parts?

A1418 covers a huge range - Late 2012 all the way through Mid 2017, with two different display types in the mix. Are you sure all of your machines are truly the same? Have you compared the EMC numbers?

Yes

"I have 3 iMac A1418s all with 3330S CPU, 8Gb Ram. "

I have also checked EMC and all have booted to a desktop on some display or other and confirmed. Need proof? 🙃
