Here is what happens. No issues for about the first month. Then one of the AirPods will fail to charge or charge at a slower rate than the other. The other will fully charge.

If I remove the uncharged AirPod from the case and put back it will start to charge normally. But with my first two pair eventually one of the AirPods would stop charging completely and could not be recognized by my Phone. Apple replaced the offending AirPod and the charging case in both instances, no questions asked. But also no explanation of what happened.

So now I'm on my 2nd replacement and my left AirPod is not starting to have inconsistent charging. I can't believe this is a common occurrence for AirPods or there would be more complaints online. So am I just that unlucky or doing something wrong? It's just odd to have the same issue over and over again with different sets of AirPods.

Anyone have a similar experience. Is there a solution here other than to exchange. I don't really want another pair and my warranty runs out in a few months too.

I have had similar issues. And it varies from right to left. I think they are not always making full contact as if I reseat them they will start charging. Annoying to go to use them and find one not completely charged.

I had this issue only with the right AirPod at first, Apple replaced the entire case with a new one. Two months later and just a few days ago I noticed both the left and right are having intermittent charging issues. I don't see any debris in the bottom of the charging case or on the AirPods so I don't know what could be causing this.

I love AirPods but am not impressed with having to get them serviced twice within the first year of owning them.

I also had an issue with 1 airpod not charging when I went to put them on. I have since made sure when I place them in the case 1 at a time that the light turns and blinks amber. If it doesn't I pull it out and do it again until it turns amber. Since I have been doing this I haven't had an issue and I am now 8 months since Apple replaced the case. Just something I figured out.
