1) What does this image mean? Does it mean that the Update is downloaded and needs to be installed? Or does this mean i still need to download it and install the update?
2) How much space do i need to install 11.6. I currently have 27.09 GB free and do i need more space to install the update?
I am on 11.0.1 on a Mid 2014 MacBook Pro
3) What does Restart Required mean? Is that normal?

Hi! I beleive these images are from System Preferences -> Software update?
1) "Install now" means there's an update available and you can install it now (unless your update preferences are set up otherwise and they're installed automatically). It usually appears next to updates for Safari or other system apps. "Update now" means there's OS update downloaded and ready to install.
2) The amount of space needed should be indicated in the Software Update window like here :

If the amount of space is not there, click "more info" to see more details about the update. I guess 27.09 gb should be fine
3) Yes, it's completely normal for system updates to system upgrades to require a system restart. This way the process goes smoothly without intervention of 3-rd party apps, services, etc

So does this mean from my photos that 11.6 is downloaded and ready to install(the apple logo loading bar thing) as soon as i click install now?

I think when you click install now, the download starts. So you'd have to wait for this to complete, too.

Very well then. Apparently i need to download the update first then. So after downloading i get around 20gb free for upgrading from big sur version 11.0.1 to version 11.6. Is 20gb for this upgrade ok or do i need more space?

You see in your screenshot that the update itself needs around 6 GB. You should be fine with 20 GB free space, and if there would be any problem, you'd get a warning before the installation anyway. Go for it!

Hi! Yes, it's all good here. It looks like you can install this update and have enough space to do so.
