Hi all, i have a 1.6 powermac G5 running dual dell 1905 monitors. I was wondering if it's possible to get 3 running!
I have one hooked up to the ADC and one hooked up to the DVI port. Been working great for months.
So I have a DVI to DVI & VGA cable. I hooked that up. When booting It the VGA mirrored the DVI. Once tiger had booted the DVI and VGA were the same as before, and the VGA went to sleep. Is it not possible to get 3 monitors spanned off this card? If not, what are my options? Can i just get a PCI card? Many thanks!

Just splitting the signal just duplicates the video signal across two monitors. You have a couple options.

1. Buy another PCI video card (make sure its Mac Compatible, don't just run to Best Buy and buy just any card off the shelf).

2. You could try one of these Matrox Dual Head2Go. They're a little expensive but could be handy for travel?

Good luck!! :)

Yes the PCI card is the way to go as otherwise it is alot of pull on your video card driving 3 monitors. It will slow down performance.

Yeah, that's a point I left out, thanks trainguy, the second option using the Matrox Dual Head2Go is tasking on your video card. The best way to go is another PCI card. Here's the ATI Mac products page.

Hope it all works out for you! Sounds like a great setup you'll have going there.
