iPhone 3-User Excel on iPhones - Is iCloud the least confusing cloud storing option?

On our farm; for each of 15 orchards; we need to track the soil moisture & irrigation dates & recommendations between 3 iPhone users who, on occasion, will also review the file on their desktop. I envision a single Excel document with 1 tab for each orchard and perhaps a global tab for global data such as area-wide temperatures. Each tab will have about 50 rows and 20 columns.

I would like for the file to reside on iCloud because it is built-in to both the desktops and iPhones. However, this is apparently not straightforward for Excel access. Would it be simpler for my users to add Dropbox or the Microsoft cloud service? Low maintenance is paramount.

I suppose in all cases that the file can only be accessed by 1 user at a time - which is fine since this is also simpler than the alternative.

I have an Office 365 subscription that gives 1 TB of OneDrive storage. Very easy and simple to use and works great with office files so it would handle what you are doing easily.

thanks rich, I like that route but for my 2 other users staying completely in the Mac world would be easiest and they need things easy. Why can't iCloud do the same? Or can iCloud even be multi-user? That is, can you share folders or files via iCloud the way I would need to?

I share a Numbers spreadsheet via iCloud. It’s accessed by MacOS and iOS devices.

Yes, Numbers is my recommendation also. Numbers worksheets can be edited on iPhones, iPads, Macs, and via a browser on PCs.

Numbers is not a feature rich as Excel, but I find it MUCH nicer to work with.
