My 30 gig ipod video has recently lost sound with both mp3s and videos It all used to work before... It will play and the time will tick but no sound comes out. Its not the headphones or the headphone jack because it doesn't work on my fm transmitter either and that plugs in through the bottom.

I've done the 5 rs and everything... Could it be the firmware? I got the latest 1.2 something or other.... Should I downgrade? If so how? What else can I try?

Thanks in advance guys.

I'm having similar volume problems with my iPod Mini. They started directly after I upgraded to iTunes 7.3.2.

Many other users are having similar problems:

But Apple refuses to recognize this as a problem. (They told me only one other person had posted about this on a forum.)

It would be great if you called their Tech Line and reported this:

1-800-275-2273 (Dial 89 after the recording comes on, then dial 86133 and leave a message). Good luck!

how do i downgrade my ipod then? maybe if i go back to older firmware it will work.
