Heaven or Hell
i am considering buying a 30" Apple Cinema Display for my Digital Photography and Retouching station. i was also considering a 23" ACD, but i also wanted to use it as a TV for watching movies and video......

so my question: is the 30" ACD a good DVD and TV watching screen ? or should i get a separate 32" inch LCD TV just for TV watching ??

please help as i have to get one soon... : )

thanks!

I'll give you a few thoughs that come to my mind

ACD only has one input - DVI.

ACD has a MUCH bigger resolution than a TV (unless you're planning on going 1080p with your TV). I find resolution key when editing photographs

TV's tend to overscan a PC image from my experience.

You could get a TV input feed to your mac?

You could consider the 30" Dell which has more inputs and is just as nice screen.

For the price of one 30", go for a 24" Dell screen for editing and a decent 32" LCD for TV. Are you using HD cable? Standard def can look pretty shoddy on bad upscaling TVs

There is no comparison, a 30" ACD has an aggregate pixel count of 4 MP (!), your TV has at most about 2. That's why 30" computer screens are much more expensive.

Yeah like Oreo said.

30" Cinema has massive 2560x1600 resolution, you'd be hard pressed to find a good 1080p (1920x1080 res) 32" LCD TV, and most are 1366x768 (720p native) resolution, thats less than a 19" computer LCD.
